Dr.Gregory M. CulbertChiropractic Orthopedist
Dr. Culbert graduated from Linfield College in 1986 with a bachelor’s degree in biology. He took one year off between college and chiropractic school and came to Alaska where he got a job on the lift crew at Alyeska ski resort. In the spring of that year, he took a job commercial fishing.
Dr. Culbert graduated with his doctorate in chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic-West in 1991. After working as an associate doctor for two years he opened Northern Chiropractic in 1993. Northern Chiropractic has been a fixture in the Eagle River community now for over 20 years.
Advanced training in orthopedics and motor vehicle trauma sets Dr. Culbert apart from his peers. He attended a three year post-doctorate chiropractic orthopedics training and successfully passed his board examinations in December of 2000. Dr. Culbert has extensive training in whiplash associated disorders and has obtained advanced certification from the Spine Research Institute of San Diego. He participated in CRASH, an automobile crash testing program performed with the San Diego Spine Research Institute and Texas A&M.
Dr. Culbert was first appointed to the Alaska State Chiropractic Peer Review committee in 1999. He does still perform peer review as needed at the request of the Alaska State Board. He was appointed to the Alaska State Board for Chiropractic Examiners in 2002 and was acting president from 2004 to the end of his terms. In 2004 Dr. Culbert was also named Alaska State Chiropractor of the Year by his peers.
Dr. Culbert loves the Alaska lifestyle and the Eagle River area in particular: “I cannot think of a better place to raise your family.” A lifetime goal of Dr. Culbert’s is to follow the Humpback whales from here to Maui and back every year.
